ABOUT THE COLLECTION

Building, learning
and exploring.

I’m Alan Dotchin. This portfolio brings together my software, data and creative projects—from practical applications to experiments inspired by my interests.

Some projects are complete, others are taking shape, and some are ideas I want to explore. Each one shows its current stage so you can see where it stands.

What I explore

I’m interested in tools that make everyday tasks easier, ways to understand and present information, and interactive experiences that bring a subject to life.

Software & practical tools

Web applications, mobile ideas, Power Platform tools and systems for organising work and personal projects.

Data & discovery

Dashboards, database projects and visualisations that turn information into something useful.

Creative interests & collections

Photography, history, collectables and educational simulations—subjects that offer plenty of opportunities to build and learn.

How I approach projects

This is a working collection as well as a showcase. I use projects to explore ideas, try different technologies and develop practical solutions. A prototype can help me understand an idea before deciding how far to take it.

The same problem may appear in more than one technology. Those versions are opportunities to explore different approaches, rather than claims that every idea is a finished product.
