Photography changes how I experience a place. It gives me a reason to pause, notice the light and consider what makes a moment worth sharing. I enjoy both the creative choices and the practical challenge of making an image.

For me, photography is a way to pay closer attention. Whether I’m at an event, exploring a landscape or photographing the details of a model, I enjoy finding a view that tells something of the story.

A sense of place.
Landscapes draw me towards the relationship between light, space and detail. I enjoy thinking about how a composition can express something of a place, from a broad view to a quieter part of the scene.
Travel and walking give me opportunities to explore different surroundings and look for a perspective that interests me.
The person in the frame.
Portraits bring a different focus: expression, light and the choices that shape how someone appears in an image.
I enjoy exploring the balance between the person and their surroundings, and the way framing can change the feeling of a photograph.
Details worth noticing.
Macro photography encourages me to look at things I might otherwise pass by. Working at a smaller scale brings attention to textures, forms and details.
It offers another kind of challenge in composition and lighting, and a way to find something interesting in an everyday subject.
CREATIVE EXPLORATION
Learning through
the photograph.
I enjoy experimenting with composition, lighting and editing. Each stage gives me decisions to make about what I want the image to convey.
Photography also connects with my modelling projects, where figures, historical details, poses and lighting come together. Videography takes that interest into movement and sound.
